About us

istartvaping.com is a project from Oxford Vapours, a small independent company from south west Oxfordshire who have been working in e-cigarette retail and smoking cessation since 2012.

istartvaping aims to focus our face-to-face retail intelligence and experience into the digital experience of finding the most suitable vaping products to give you the very best chance of making the switch away from cigarettes.

We have poured our independent, face-to-face experience with tens of thousands of customers into a number of formulas that work out the most suitable products based on your smoking habit and preferences.

We also work out how much you need and when you need it plus give you the help and advice you need along the way in bite-sized chunks that are easy to access and understand.

About the service

Based on the information that you provide, we will suggest a one month supply of vaping products and you will have the option to sign up to a monthly supply of consumables.

We have based this one month supply on the minimum amount of time recommended by the NHS to use a smoking alternative for the highest chance of success.

The total cost depends on how many cigarettes you currently smoke as this will dictate the quantity of consumables that you need. Your preference towards value or convenience will also affect the overall and on-going costs.

On average, using the service costs between £1-3 per day, which should offer a healthy saving compared to smoking cigarettes.

Vaping has been proven to be the most successful way to abstain from smoking in the long term and has helped around 30% (3m) of the total amount of smokers in the UK (10m) switch in the last 10 years.

Like any smoking alternative it takes commitment, patience and some discipline, but we can help with that along the way.

We cannot guarantee that you will make the switch the first time, but we 100% believe that istartvaping offers the very best chance of that happening.

About Vaping

The NHS has stated with confidence, after years of scientific research, that vaping is at least 95% safer than smoking and offers dramatic harm reduction if used as an alternative.

The UK industry is also stringently regulated and products are tested on a molecular level to ensure safety and compliance.

No, nicotine is not dangerous if consumed in moderation and inline with proper usage of any delivery device. Nicotine is a very similar stimulant to caffeine.

The over-consumption of nicotine can cause side-effects such as dizziness., increased heart-rate, itchiness or nausea. If you start to feel any negative side-effects from using nicotine products, stop immediately and seek medical advice.

Nicotine is addictive and should always be consumed in moderation, as with our recommended product solutions.

There is zero evidence linking nicotine or any of the regulated ingredients in vaping to causing cancer if used correctly inline with product care and guidance.

It is the thousands of chemicals or 80+ carcinogens in combustible cigarettes that have caused so many millions of smoking related cancers.

There are no carcinogenic ingredients involved in regulated vaping products.

Vype ePen

For optimal performance, your ePen 3 should be fully charged before first use.

Remove the ePen 3 cartridge from the blister pack. Push the cartridge onto the device, it will click fit.

To switch on your ePen 3, rapidly click the button three times.

For optimum enjoyment and satisfaction it is recommended to close your lips over the cartridge so the tip is inside your mouth, not resting directly on your lips.

To begin your vaping experience, press the button and hold it
down whilst inhaling.

Only use Vype ePen 3 cartridges with the Vype ePen 3 device.

The ePen 3 can be switched off by rapidly clicking on the button three times.

The ePen 3 will confirm that it has switched off by flashing the LED three times.

If the ePen 3 remains unused for 10 minutes, it will automatically switch off and will need to be switched back on to use.

To confirm whether your ePen 3 is on or off, press the button once. If the ePen 3 is on, the LED will illuminate for three seconds. If the ePen 3 is off the LED will not illuminate.

To charge your ePen 3, attach the USB charging cable supplied with your ePen 3 kit to the micro USB port on the base of the ePen 3.
• Connect the other end of the USB charging cable to the USB port of a computer.
• When charging, the LED on the ePen 3 will indicate the battery level.
• Green: Your battery is between 85% and 100% charged.
• Red solid: Your battery is less than 85% charged.
• Red pulsing: Your battery is less than 10% charged.
• When the LED shows continuous green, the ePen 3 is fully charged and the USB charging cable should be
disconnected.
• It should take no longer than 2 hours to fully charge your ePen 3 battery.
• If your ePen 3 LED starts to flash red rapidly whilst charging please disconnect and contact the customer care line.
• You can also charge your ePen 3 using a Vype USB car charger or Vype wall
plug which are available at govype.com

Cleaning and maintaining your vape properly can impact the performance quality and lengthen the life of your device. With frequent use, vape pens can become clogged and filled with debris. Giving your e-cig a good clean will keep it working to its full potential and ensure it carries on delivering clean vapour.

The mouthpiece of your device is easy to maintain and keep clean. If your pods are lasting more than a day, then it’s best to roll some tissue or kitchen towel into a thin point and then gently place the point down the mouthpiece where you inhale through. If you find yourself going through a pod or more each day, then you shouldn’t need to clean it using the method mentioned above.

A well maintained, regularly used ePen device should last at least 12 months, before the battery efficiency begins to deteriorate (after repeated charge/discharge cycles, Lithium-ion batteries start to lose charge capacity, but this will depend on your personal vaping behaviour). Keeping your ePen battery charged will help to maintain the battery life.

It’s quite common for people to not get on with certain vaping devices and this can be for a variety of reasons; The battery life doesn’t last long enough, the throat hit isn’t strong enough or the device isn’t comfortable to hold.

If you find yourself not getting on with your device, we suggest contacting customer support and they will be able to guide you to a better suited device after asking some simple troubleshooting questions.

ePen Pods

Vuse E-Liquids are made of high-quality pharmaceutical and food grade ingredients.

A Vuse E-Liquid has up to 5 ingredients. Some contain water, flavourings and/or nicotine – and some contain none of these. However, all our E-Liquids have one pair of ingredients in common – a base made of Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG).

The Vuse ePens are known as closed pod systems, meaning the pods which contain E-liquid at the point of purchase, cannot be refilled and once they are empty, they need to be discarded.

When one pod is empty, all you need to do is remove a new ePod from its packaging and then place it into the battery unit with the mouthpiece facing away from the battery. Once this is in place, check that your battery is turned on and then press the button to inhale and enjoy your new ePod.

Vuse suggest that their pods last approximately 360 puffs per pod. However, this will differ from person to person due to the way each user will inhale. For example, some people prefer taking longer inhales around the 4-6 seconds mark and other prefer a shorter inhale around 2-3 seconds.

General Battery Safety

Lithium-Ion batteries in electronic cigarettes are similar to the batteries used across the world in everyday devices like mobile phones and are considered safe, but there can be personal safety risks if used improperly. All batteries have gone through extensive testing and most models have a built-in protection circuit, but it is vital to keep the following points in mind to ensure that you are using your batteries safely.

Use the On/Off feature when your electronic cigarette is not in use.
Only use the charger supplied with your product. Different batteries use different chargers.
Never leave charging batteries unattended unless you are using a charging safety bag.
Never submerge batteries in water or expose to extremely low or high temperatures.
Safely dispose of batteries once they have reached their end of life (WEE Derivative).
Always carry loose batteries in non-conductive containers, plastic or cardboard are fine, and never with metal/metallic objects such as loose change or keys.

Stay safe and use common sense whilst using electronic cigarette batteries and you will not have any problems. If you need any additional safety information or general advice on the products you have bought from us please feel free to get in touch.
